Glenfruin Cottage – a really lovely cosy country cottage well equipped, smart yet homely.
Great helpful hosts and a great location for exploring the area.
Had the weather been better, the garden would have been lovely to relax in but we had to swap that for a real fire instead most evenings which we both enjoyed and relaxed by with a glass of wine. I think we’ll be back!

We have had a truly amazing and relaxing stay at Glenfuin Lodge. Thank you for the warm welcome and spotless cottage. Thanks to Alison’s recommendations we had a wonderful time climbing Conic Hill (stunning views!) and a great trip to the island of Inchcailloch. We also drove to Glencoe and were in awe of the breathtaking scenery.

Thanks again for providing such a cosy, comfortable and well-equipped base from which to explore Loch Lomond and into the Highlands. It has been the perfect way to spend and celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary.

Fab little place – central to pretty much everywhere. Had a trip over to Isle of Arran to walk up Goatfell, drove up to Oban via the Arrachar Alps and the Rest & Be Thankful.
Sadly the weather wasn’t as good as I hoped so munro bagging went out of the window which allowed for visits to Luss, Balmaha and the inevitable visit in the torrential rain to Glencoe.

Thanks to Alison & Craig for their attention to detail.

Cosy, comfortable Crosskeys Cottage. Ideal for our short stay in Loch Lomond. Warm welcome from Craig and Alison. Highlights of our short stay – Conic Hill, its steep but worth it, amazing views. Duncryne (dumpling) trail, much less steep but also very nice views over the Loch. Aber shore RSPB trail to the Loch absolutely beautiful this time of year with the bluebells, a very peaceful walk. Lussfor a pleasant stroll and Helensburgh for sunset over the hills. Finally a coffee or glass of something at Duck Bay a perfect way to finish your day sitting onthe terrace watching the swifts under the pontoon and listening to the oyster catchers.

All of the above dog friendly and much enjoyed by us too.

Thanks, very much enjoyed our stay, Neil, Deb, Dooley & Davy (woof)

Our second visit. Crosskeys Cottage is cosy and ideally placed for visits. Love Helensburgh. Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies – unbelieveable engineering. Rosneath Peninsula – dolphins in the loch, seals off Ardmore Point. Glenarn Gardens a riot of colour.

Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s Hill House, only 5 mins drive away – covered in a metal mesh ‘box’ but access to walkways all around the outside of the building and even above it, shows it’s desperate need for conservation. Another brilliant piece of engineering and very interesting – seeing parts of the building not normally seen and revealing the poor construction under the pebbledash.

Great week, now moving to Bute via Rest and be thankful and Ardkinglas Arboretum.
