Glenfruin Lodge

What a great time we’ve had! There has been great walks and views.

We recommend the Cattle & Creel in Helensburgh for great Steak, Mussels and Oysters.  Sadly Duck Bay is not what it was – the food was poor and I’d avoid it.

What a great week we have had.  Saturday, Sunday and Monday were gloriously sunny and warm.  Tuesday – Thursday were dry enough to let us continue to explore.  We recommend a trip all the way down to the West Kyle of Bute including Tigh na Bruaich and Portavadie.  Go right down to Ardlamont Bay to get magnificent views of Arran. It rained all day Friday, but we had enjoyed all the best days.

Thank you Alison & Craig for all the good things Glen Fruin Lodge provides.

Dear Craig & Alison,

We enjoyed the time in your cosy cottage (Crosskeys Cottage).  We’d never been to Scotland before so we looked forward to discovering the countryside.

Now we can say that we absolutely fell in love with the landscape, especially with Loch Lomond and Conic Hill.

We will certainly come back soon.

Thanks so much!

We have had a lovely long weekend.  The cottage (Crosskeys Cottage) is nice and cosy and well equipped.  Great location for exploring the National Park.

We were lucky enough with the weather to walk up Ben Lomond, Beinne Ime and Beinn Narnain.  Amazing views on the way down!!

We have had a fantastic few days, thank you.

Very brief visit as up for a funeral.  Cosy Cottage (Crosskeys Cottage), good location.

We hope to be back in happier times.

Thank you for a lovely week, Glenfruin Lodge is well equipped and cosy.

Had mixed weather, some beautiful days as well as snow, walked, explored and even did a Segway safari – great fun. Breakfast at Fruin Farm (over the road) highly recommended and fish & chips at the Wee Kelpie!

We loved this cottage so much (Crosskeys Cottage) – it was just like home.  We had wonderful days out but just couldn’t wait to get back to light the fire!

This cottage has everything you need and last night we went out late as the Northern Lights were forecasted – 3 hours and nothing – never mind (Iceland, Finland & Scotland – no lights yet!).

Thanks again.

Thank you for a lovely stay.  We have thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to Loch Lomond with our little girl Isla.  Made even more special by the fact she saw snow for the first time.

The Lodge was so family friendly and Isla who has not long started walking, loved pottering about and playing in the lovely bath.

We would recommend Cameron House for lunch (for a special treat).  It was expensive but well worth it.  We also had a lovely drink in the Loch Lomond Arms in Luss next to the cosy log burning fire.  We have had lots of lovely walks taking in the beauty of Loch Lomond, in particular the Argyll Forest.

We will definitely be back.

Thank you,

Clare, Ian & Isla (Liverpool)

Our third Xmas at Crosskeys.

Thanks Alison & Craig for a great stay.  As always everything is to a high standard.

Even the constant rain did not dampen our spirits!

Looking forward to our return.

Many thanks, Jim & Frances Kelly, Barney & Echo (the dogs)
